Day 1

Arrive Cochin, assistance upon arrival later transfer to hotel. Overnight hotel on B&B

Day 2

Transfer to Thattekad Birding site. Stay for night at jungle lodge.

Day 3/4

Thattekkad: - Dr Salem Ali Bird Sanctuary

Reach Thattekkad at early. Thattekkad is a birder’s paradise in Kerala, Southern India. Around two hundred seventy plus species are found in a small area of twenty five square kilometers. Nocturnal birding offers sighting of Night jars, Frog mouths & various species of Owls. Chief attractions are Spot-bellied Eagle-Owl, Ceylon Frog mouth, Red Spurfowls, Bay Owls, Twany Babblers, Blue-faced Malkohas, Brown-breasted, White-bellied flycatchers, Blue-tailed Flycatchers and Rusty-tailed Flycatchers, Grey-headed Bulbuls and Wynad Laughing Thrush. At Thattekkad endemic spieces   make their home in Western Ghat. At Orullathany and near Edamalayar Power Plant site near aquila eagles, owlets abd owls, Streak-throated Wood peckers and Yellow-billed Babbler can be seenalong side Blue-bearded Bee-eater, Malabar Grey Hornbill, White-bellied Wood pecker, and Heart-spotted Wood pecker, White-bellied Treepie and Black-throated Munia. Day 5/6

Munnar. Reach afternoon
Munnar is a popular hill station at height of 1450m. In forest canopy and grassland - last habitat of endangered Nilgiri Tahr - one can see the Nilgiri Wood-Pigeon, Grey-breasted Laughing Thrush, Nilgiri Flycatchers and Black-and-Rufous Flycatcher, White-bellied Shortwing, Nilgiri Pipits, Painted Bush Quails. There are patches of dense evergreen forests called sholas on  either side of the plateau of the Nilgiri Hills at Rajamalai about eight kilometer from Munnar and part of the Eravikulam National Park. Munnar has plenty of tea gardens hence habitat diversity results in interesting avifauna.  Overnight Stay at Olive Brooke Resort.

Day 7/8

Ooty
En-route to Ooty we stop at Chinnar about sixty kms from Munnar a thorny scrub forest in the rain shadow region of the Western Ghats. The birds seen are Rain Quails, Blue-breasted quail,  Large Grey Babblers, White-bellied and White-naped Woodpeckers, Lesser Whitethroat and Jerdon's Baza, White-rumped Shama, Speckled Piculet, Blue-bearded Bee-eater, Black Baza, Sir keer Malkoha, Oriental Scops Owls, Eurasian Eagle Owl, Streak-throated Swallows and Grey-breasted Laughing Thrush.

On reaching Ooty at evening we will go birding at the Cairnhill shoal, Kallatti Ghats en-route to Masinagudi. Overnight Stay: Regency Villas.

Drive to Cochin, day free or have local sight seeing overnight hotel on B&B

Day 10

Transfer to international airport
